In the thirteenth episode of his podcast, Johann Lafer welcomes the cabaret artist, actress and author Monika Gruber.

Monika Gruber, born in 1971, grew up with two younger brothers on her parents’ farm in Titkofen, Upper Bavaria. After graduating from high school, she worked for several years as a foreign language secretary and, at the age of 27, completed two and a half years of acting training at the Zerboni drama school. Gruber has been one of the most popular cabaret artists ever since she toured in 2004 with her first solo show in her signature role, waitress Monique. Together with Andreas Hock, she wrote the bestseller “And redeem us from the stupid – from common sense in hysterical times” in 2020.

Since the beginning of the 2000s until today, Monika Gruber has played herself into the hearts of her fans through her numerous cabaret programs as well as her distinctive roles on television and in the cinema.
